  • Sale! magnificent and intricately carved dark green stone sculpture depicts a serene meditating Buddha, seated prominently in the traditional full lotus position (Padmasana) with hands gently resting in the Dhyana Mudra (meditation gesture, palms upward, right over left). The central Buddha figure is rendered with peaceful, downcast eyes, elongated earlobes, and a prominent Usnisha (cranial bump symbolizing wisdom) above finely detailed curled hair, along with an Urna (dot between the eyebrows). Behind the main Buddha rises an elaborate, arched backrest or throne, deeply carved with ornate swirling patterns, celestial motifs, and crowned at its peak by a smaller, stylized Buddha figure. Flanking the central Buddha, on either side of the arched backrest, are vertical columns featuring multiple tiers of miniature, seated Buddha figures, each meticulously carved within its own small architectural niche, creating a sense of a grand celestial assembly. The entire substantial sculpture rests upon a multi-layered, stepped pedestal base, which is also adorned with several additional miniature seated Buddha figures carved into alcoves along its front. The piece is rendered in a lustrous, deep forest green stone, reminiscent of polished jade or ancient bronze, with subtle variations in tone highlighting the exquisite craftsmanship and three-dimensional details of every figure and decorative element.
