In his right hand, he holds a slender writing implement, likely a stylus or pen, poised carefully over a rectangular palm-leaf manuscript or wooden writing tablet held steadily in his left hand. The scholar is adorned in simple yet traditional Indian attire, consisting of a draped lower garment resembling a dhoti, and a shawl (angavastram) gracefully folded over his left shoulder and across his torso, with a beaded necklace around his neck.
