Lord Vishnu Idol
Material Used: We have used wood to carve this beautiful piece of art. This Vishnu Statue is ideal for use in temples and for indoor devotion. The minute detailing done on it exemplifies The Stone Studio karigars’ best work.
Vishnu is one of the most important Hindu gods. Vishnu brings together a slew of other holy figures and local heroes, particularly through his avatars, Rama and Krishna. His thoughts are numerous; he is claimed to have ten avatars, but they are not necessarily the same ten.
Vishnu is said to demonstrate a part of himself whenever he is called upon to fight evil and safeguard the Dharma (moral and spiritual law). Some incarnations, like Parashurama (Rama with the Axe) and Krishna, cause the deaths of countless innocent people, while the Buddha corrupts the virtuous antigods. The eagle Garuda is Vishnu’s vahana, or mode of transportation on earth, while Vaikuntha is his heaven.
Lord Vishnu Idol is depicted in temples either relaxing, typically with his consorts Lakshmi (also known as Shri) and Bhumidevi (Earth), or reclining on the snake Shesha’s circles—sleeping on the cosmic ocean during the time between the world’s cycle destruction and re-manifestation.
He is also represented standing and dressed in regal robes, carrying the shankha (conch), chakra (discus), gada (club), or padma (club) in his four (sometimes two) hands (lotus).
The shrivatsa mark is a curl of hair on his chest, and he wears the auspicious diamond Kaustubha around his neck. Vishnu Murti is usually depicted as having a dark complexion in portraits, a distinctive characteristic also of some of his manifestations.
This figure is beautifully carved in a single piece of wood. The complex work done on it bestows the immense commitment of the artisan towards performing this special piece. Minute carvings are made on the whole body keeping in mind the proper decorations.
This standing Vishnu statue is holding a flower as well as a conch shell, discus, and a big club. The conch symbolizes “Om”, the first sound of creation and also the origin of matter since sound and matter are considered to be equivalent. The discus is thought to represent the sun.
The discus is a vestige of his solar origins. Vishnu’s weapon, the club or Gada, represents the elemental force from which all physical and mental powers derive. Narayan Statue has a large necklace that hangs down to his knees. He has a slight smile on his face.
Lord Vishnu Idol is the Hindu god of protection and part of the Hindu holy Trimurti along with Shiva the Destroyer & Brahma the Creator
