Vishnu story bust statue
Height: 33 inches
Material Used: This amazing work of art was carved out of Black Stone. The sculpture’s detailed carving makes it particularly lovely, and it’s an excellent choice for any garden or temple. The intricate sculptures depict Lord Vishnu in many avatars.
Vishnu is a Hindu deity who is revered as one of the most powerful. Vishnu, via his incarnations Rama and Krishna, brings together a slew of other sacred figures and local heroes. His ideas are many, and he is said to have 10 avatars, but they are not all the same.
When Vishnu is summoned to fight evil and protect the Dharma, he is expected to show a side of himself (moral and spiritual law). Some incarnations, like Parashurama (Rama with the Axe) and Krishna, cause the deaths of countless innocent people, while the Buddha corrupts the virtuous antigods. The eagle Garuda is Vishnu’s vahana, or mode of transportation on the earth, while Vaikuntha is his paradise.
Vishnu is shown in temples either lounging with his consorts Lakshmi (also known as Shri) and Bhumidevi (Earth), or reclining on the serpent Shesha’s circles—sleeping on the cosmic ocean between the world’s cycle of destruction and re-manifestation.
In addition, he is depicted standing in regal attire, holding the shankha (conch), chakra (discus), gada (club), or padma (club) in his four (sometimes two) hands (lotus). A curl of hair on his breast serves as his shrivatsa mark, and he wears the auspicious diamond Kaustubha around his neck. In images, Vishnu Murti is often depicted with a dark complexion, which is also a distinctive trait of numerous of his incarnations.
This Vishnu story bust statue is carved out of a single block of Blackstone. The intricate craftsmanship done on it demonstrates the artisan’s dedication to completing this unique piece. In his actual forms, his solar origins are reflected in the discus. Vishnu’s weapon, the Gada (club), signifies the elemental energy that gives rise to all physical and mental abilities.
Vishnu is known chiefly through his avatars (incarnations), particularly Rama, Krishna, and Buddha. In theory, Vishnu manifests a portion of himself anytime he is needed to fight evil, and his appearances are innumerable; but in practice, ten incarnations of Vishnu are most commonly recognized.
Lord Vishnu is the Hindu god of protection and part of the Hindu holy Trimurti along with Shiva the Destroyer & Brahma the Creator.
