The structure is a dynamic stack of finely carved figures, characteristic of temple architectural elements. At the very top, a flat surface transitions into an intricately carved horizontal beam. Below this, square panels feature detailed carvings, including what appears to be a peacock on the left, adorned with teal accents. A downward-tapering finial projects from the underside of the top section. The central and most prominent part of the carving is a vertical succession of powerful, mythical, and real animals. Uppermost in this stack is a fierce, stylized Yali-like creature (a mythical lion-elephant hybrid often found in South Indian art) with a large, dark, flowing mane, an open mouth revealing fangs, and bulging eyes. Its body is rendered in a lighter wood tone with golden highlights. A small, dark-skinned human figure in traditional attire is depicted near its head, possibly as a rider or attendant. Directly below the Yali, a majestic, golden-brown bull (resembling Nandi, the mount of Shiva) stands, richly adorned with intricate gold patterns on its body and saddle. Another small, dark-skinned human figure is seated on the bull's back, holding reins. Supporting the entire structure at the base is a dark grey elephant, heavily ornamented with gold-patterned adornments that suggest a ceremonial saddlecloth and jewelry.
