In Hinduism, Garuda is a Upadevata, a heavenly existence, and is represented as the mount of Sri Vishnu. Garuda is normally depicted as being a powerful man; having a golden, bright body; with a white face, red wings, and an eagle’s beak. He is decorated with a crown on his head.  This very ancient god is assumed to have a huge form, big enough to obstruct the Sun God.

Garuda is regarded as a fierce and sworn adversary of the Nagas, members of the serpent family; it is thought that Garuda solely ate snakes. This exercise demonstrates a connection to the Indian short-toed eagle. The Garuda Statue is typically worn as a charm or amulet since it is said to protect the bearer from poisonous snake bites. In reality, the mantra Garuda Vidya is frequently utilized as a palliative method to end the negative effects of snake venom as well as to get rid of whatever pain the person has been suffering with.

Garuda had great affection and loyalty for Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Shri Maha Vishnu. Lord Indra once sent torrential rainfall over Vrindavana, the residence of Krishna. It is assumed that Garuda, who witnessed the event from over the clouds, was so angry and frustrated at Indra’s activities, that he began perspiring profusely.

Vishnu attached the Mandara Mountain to Garuda’s back during the Sagar Manthan occasion. Then he got up on the bird’s back and told it to fly them to the ocean’s core. Additionally, Garuda found the peak where Vishnu had instructed it to be. Garuda was then instructed to go by Vishnu since Vasuki, the snake King, would not have been able to enter the range without Garuda’s presence. Vasuki was brought in to serve as the churning rod to stir the powerful ocean after Garuda had flown away.

Garuda is depicted in the Mahabharata as an impetuous, destructive power that should be viewed carefully. He had a great deal of charm, was nimble and quick, and was an expert in martial arts. The strongest warriors and troops are really likened to Garuda, who collapses on a serpent. Acharya Drona discovered a whole army organization and gave it the name Garuda in honor of the powerful bird. Throughout the Battle of Kurukshetra, Garuda also places a strong emphasis on Krishna’s flag.
