According to Hindu religion, after the commencement of the infinite world by Lord Brahma, a great mistake dominated the highest in the universe. But Brahma felt worried for he realized that His cosmic universe was denied of order, knowledge, and arrangement. He established the embodiment of wisdom and creativity. Goddess Saraswati emerged out of his mouth.

Then all the heavenly bodies including the sun, the moon, and the stars were developed and organized under strict laws. The oceans sprang up and the terms started evolving systematically. Ecstatic Brahma named the Goddess Vagdevi, the goddess of language and sound. In this way, Brahma formed the Universe appointed with the eternal source of knowledge provided by the Goddess Saraswati.

Tridevis comprehending Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Saraswati. They are the companions of the trinity of Lord Shiva, Lore Vishnu, and Lord Brahma. In the means of production, security, and dissolution of the Universe, all three goddesses also presented pivotal roles. Maha Saraswati is represented as eight-armed sitting on a white lotus flower. There She is treating in Her hands the bell, trident, plowshare, conch, pestle, discus, bow, and arrow. All these suggest that Maha Saraswati was not merely the goddess of learning and arts.

The Goddess Saraswati Mata Statue equipped with her Veena (lute) reached a lovely garden filled by the Gandharvas. There She began playing her Veena and performing enchanting tunes of ragas and raginis until the air of the garden is covered with a musical version of the music. They entreated the Goddess Saraswati to guide them through the divine music. But She allowed to teach them provided they should return the urn of ‘Someras’. The Gandharvas were so captivated by both the refulgent beauty of the goddess and Her sweet music that they granted to Her offer.

Thus Saraswati retrieved the urn of elixir from the Gandharvas’ direction. And the Gandharvas also became maven in music and art adequately to present in the court of heaven in presence of the gods and goddesses.
