Vishnu Murti
Height: 3ft
Material Used: We have used Black Stone to carve this beautiful piece of art. This Vishnu Statue is a replica of one of our previous Vishnu creation in off white sandstone.
Vishnu is one of the significant Hindu divinities. Vishnu combines many more subordinate divine figures and local heroes, especially through his avatars, especially Rama and Krishna. His ideas are innumerable; he is often said to have 10 avatars—but not always the same 10.
Vishnu is said to prove a part of himself anytime he is required to fight evil and to protect dharma (moral and spiritual law). Not all avatars are wholly generous; some, such as Parashurama (Rama with the Ax) and Krishna, bring about the ends of many innocent people, and the Buddha corrupts the pious antigods. Vishnu’s vahana, his transport in the world, is the eagle Garuda; his heaven is called Vaikuntha.
Temple figures of Vishnu Murti describe him either resting, often in the company of his consorts Lakshmi (also called Shri) and Bhumidevi (Earth), or reclining on the circles of the serpent Shesha—sleeping on the cosmic ocean throughout the time between the cyclic destruction and re-manifestation of the world.
He is also depicted in a standing position and wrapped in glorious garments, holding in his four (sometimes two) hands the shankha (conch), chakra (discus), gada (club), or padma (lotus).
On his chest is the curl of hair known as the shrivatsa mark, and throughout his neck, he wears the auspicious jewel Kaustubha. In portraits, Vishnu Murti is normally presented as dark-complexioned, a distinctive characteristic also of some of his manifestations.
This figure is beautifully carved in a single piece of Blackstone. The complex work done on it bestows the immense commitment of the artisan towards performing this special piece. Minute carvings are made on the whole body keeping in mind the proper decorations.
This standing Vishnu statue is holding a flower as well as a conch shell, discus, and a big club. The conch symbolizes “Om”, the first sound of creation and also the origin of matter since sound and matter are considered to be equivalent. The discus is thought to represent the sun.
The discus is a vestige of his solar origins. Vishnu’s weapon, the club or Gada, represents the elemental force from which all physical and mental powers derive. Narayan Statue has a large necklace that hangs down to his knees. He has a slight smile on his face.
Lord Vishnu is the Hindu god of protection and part of the Hindu holy Trimurti along with Shiva the Destroyer & Brahma the Creator
